Our Leadership Team
I just had no clue. When I launched a team, I could have never anticipated the pressures that come with hiring and working beside others. Afterall, I was a solo-prenuer. I learned quickly that getting the right people in the right seats would truly create a bolster to our business I never anticipated. With every hire we've been more blessed with our business growth, but with the growth of our work family.
Agents deserve a highly skilled administrative team that understands the priorities, systems and processes to give our agents as many resources as possible.
This team is second to none.
Anna Powell
Team Leader
Anna Powell started out as a solopreneur with a simple conviction: real estate should feel personal, not transactional. More than five years and a few hundred closings later, she leads a team of agents serving the Triangle, Coastal, and Western North Carolina markets from APRE's home base in Fuquay-Varina. What hasn't changed is how hands-on she is — Anna is still in the deal channels talking through pricing, untangling a contract question, or pushing a stuck closing across the line. She's built APRE around a belief that when you invest in agents first, clients feel the difference. "You'll always have a home with us" isn't a slogan here. It's how she runs the place.
Haley Colley
Team Manager
Haley Colley is the person who makes APRE run. As Team Manager, she's the first face a new agent meets and the one who walks them through onboarding, systems, and training until it all clicks. She builds the programs that keep this team sharp — all-hands meetings, masterclasses, agent-led Sizzle sessions, the team lead retreat — and handles the hundred unglamorous things behind them, from vendor invoices to brokerage paperwork to making sure the office has toner. Haley leads with genuine enthusiasm: she welcomes every single new agent by name, and she means it. If APRE feels like a team rather than a roster, that's largely her.
Ashley McQueen
Lead Transaction Coordinator
Ashley McQueen is one of the transaction coordinators keeping APRE's deals on track, and she is genuinely unflappable. From the moment a buyer goes under contract, Ashley is scheduling inspections, working the MLS, reviewing the ALTA and closing disclosure, chasing due diligence deadlines, and staying on top of lenders, builders, and attorneys until everyone's on the same page. She checks in before you have to ask — "Any updates? Need anything from me?" is practically her signature. Ashley's whole job is removing friction, so our agents can stay with their clients and our clients can enjoy the part that's supposed to be exciting.
Megan Wilkey
Transaction Coordinator
Megan is one of the transaction coordinators behind Anna Powell Real Estate — and if you've closed with us, you've probably already met her. From the moment a listing hits the pipeline, Megan is booking photos and measurements, getting signs and lockboxes in place, tracking due diligence deadlines, chasing down signatures, and keeping attorneys, vendors, and clients all moving in the same direction. Her philosophy is simple: "We're your back-end support so you can be the front-end expert." Our agents count on her to catch what would otherwise slip — and our clients get a calmer, smoother path to the closing table.
Why Agent Leadership?
When we look at inifinite game theory, we see the importance of a JUST CAUSE in any organization to keep it thriving. While I didn't understand this complex business theory when I was a young entrepreneuer just trying to launch a business - I know now that the most important part of playing a infinite game and growing a business that will last for decades to come is because there is a HIGHER calling than profits, transaction count, agent counts, or putting out day to day fires. The organization must serve a bigger cause. Our cause to our client base is 'to be a beacon in the community, by putting people first,' and this dictates all of our agents processes.
But a real estate team owes a bigger purpose to its agents too. Ours is that we want to grow agent leaders. Leaders in the real estate community, in their homes, churches, schools, communities, and in any other setting they find themselves.
Because of this need for leadership, we've identified our own agent leadership team in the above group. They lead 8-9 agent teams within our team.
We are grateful daily for their servent leadership hearts. Their businesses are thriving and the agents that look up to them for guidance are raving fans.
